South Arkansas Regional Hospital Earns National Silver Plus Recognition for Stroke Care Excellence

El Dorado, Ark. (Oct. 20, 2025) — South Arkansas Regional Hospital (SARH) has been nationally recognized by the American Heart Association (AHA) with the Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke Silver Plus Achievement Award, honoring the hospital’s commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines.

This recognition places SARH among only six hospitals in the entire state of Arkansas to achieve the Silver Plus distinction as of July 2025, a testament to the hospital’s continuous focus on quality outcomes and advanced stroke care.

“This award reflects the dedication of our physicians, nurses, and clinical teams who work tirelessly to deliver lifesaving care to our community,” said Danna Taylor, President and CEO of South Arkansas Regional Hospital. “We are proud to be recognized alongside leading hospitals nationwide for excellence in stroke treatment and patient recovery.”

The American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke program helps hospitals follow the most up-to-date, evidence-based care to improve outcomes for stroke patients, reducing disability and increasing survival rates. Hospitals receiving the Silver Plus Achievement Award demonstrate at least 12 consecutive months of high performance in key quality measures and consistency in delivering timely, guideline-directed care.

SARH continues to invest in advanced imaging technology, specialized training, and coordinated care pathways to ensure the best possible outcomes for the South Arkansas community.

“Receiving Silver Plus recognition is not only an honor but also a reflection of our WE CARE Values: Welcoming, Excellence, Compassion, Adaptability, Respect, and Equality,”  said Dr. Will Daniel, Emergency Department Medical Director at SARH. “Our vision is to be the regional healthcare provider of choice by embedding these values into every interaction and decision. Every success story reinforces why we do what we do, saving lives and restoring hope in a connected environment for our patients and family.”

SARH’s commitment to quality and continuous improvement has been recognized by several esteemed healthcare organizations. The hospital has earned honors including the American Heart Association Stroke Gold Quality Achievement Award, the Cribs for Kids® National Safe Sleep Silver Certification, a Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade “B” Facility rating, and the Arkansas Governor’s Quality Award – Challenge Level.
