Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Assists an Occupational Therapist with rehabilitative activities for patients who may have developmental, physical and emotional impairments. Teaches patients skills/techniques and how to use adaptive equipment for participating in activities. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A limited degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to an occupational therapist and/or department manager. Requires an associate degree and Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA). Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
