Completing and verifying surgical documents. Verifying patient identification. Ensuring correct site, correct procedure surgery. Assessing the patient for allergies and other preexisting conditions. Preparing and positioning patients for surgery. Maintaining infection control throughout the procedure. Monitoring high-tech activities electrosurgical and laser devices, and video and imaging equipment. Performs counts of surgical items before the operation and after to ensure none are retained in the patient. Assist with obtaining and verifying correct supplies and equipment are available for each procedure. Maintaining correct body positioning for patients during their procedure. Being an advocate for patients ensures that they are receiving high-quality, quality safe surgical care. Does Require Call.
