The Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility at South Arkansas Regional Hospital is a dedicated 20-bed unit located on the second floor, designed to help you or your loved one recover and regain independence after an acute illness or injury that has impacted your ability to function at your usual level.

Our facility features two fully equipped rehab gyms and a simulation room made to feel like a patient’s home, offering intensive Physical, Occupational, an Speech therapy tailored to your unique needs.

Our interdisciplinary team of highly skilled healthcare professionals, led by Medical Director Dr. Greg Smart, includes occupational, physical, and speech therapists, 24/7 nursing staff, and a dedicated discharge planner. We work as a close knit team to provide personalized care and support from the moment you contact us through your discharge, ensuring that you are the primary focus in your care.

Each patient participates in a minimum of three hours of therapy five days a week, ensuring continuous, high-quality therapy that is focused on achieving the best possible outcomes. Each patient is visited by a physician who is trained and certified in Rehabilitation at least three times a week.

Our Inpatient Services Include:

  • Occupational Therapy: Helping you regain the skills needed for daily activities and independence, with a focus on fine motor skills.
  • Physical Therapy: Restoring movement, strength, coordination, endurance, and helping manage pain during physical activity.
  • Speech Therapy: Addressing communication and swallowing challenges to improve your quality of life.
  • Nutritional Evaluation and Dietary Monitoring: Ensuring you receive proper nutrition to aid your recovery.
  • Discharge Planning: Assisting with your transition back home and ensuring you have the resources and support necessary for a smooth return.

Our program is designed to support individuals recovering from illness or debilitating conditions such as stroke, hip fractures, amputations, neurological disorders, brain injuries, trauma, or generalized weakness.
